Diecast Model Cars Hot Wheels
Hot Wheels a little history of these popular diecast collectibles. Before Hot Wheels the leader in the small diecast model car industry was Matchbox by Lesney, a British company. Elliot Handler of Mattel brought out a series of model cars for young boys based on the popular custom and racing cars of the time, 1968. The first of these diecast models was the Custom Camaro, one of 16 models designed by Harry Badley. Mattel was able to capture a large part of the market with a number of new features such as low friction wheels and styling more in tune with the times.Hot Wheels
