Diecast Model Cars Hot Wheels
Hot Wheels a little history of these popular diecast collectibles. Before Hot Wheels the leader in the small diecast model car industry was Matchbox by Lesney, a British company. Elliot Handler of Mattel brought out a series of model cars for young boys based on the popular custom and racing cars of the time, 1968. The first of these diecast models was the Custom Camaro, one of 16 models designed by Harry Badley. Mattel was able to capture a large part of the market with a number of new features such as low friction wheels and styling more in tune with the times.Hot Wheels

Just read where rare Dinky vehicle sold for $40,000 and a set of 6 sold by Canadian collector went for $70,000 in March this year. This is not likely the kind of model we will find at a yard sale but you never know. Don't overlook anything in your searches.

Dinky Diecast Cars
Dinky diecast model cars trucks and more. The Dinky line of models dates back to around 1934. This company made all sorts of models including airplanes, ships, military models and many others. The original models were scaled to fit model train layouts. Many of these older models are very valuable in todays market, a rare Dinky model sold for over $19,000 a few years back. Maybe not in every collectors budget but you need to know what can and does happen in the collectible world. Lots of Dinky toys available on my website.

A lot of those old toys you played with as a kid are now becoming rare diecast collectibles. I am sure you can remember that favorite dump truck or car from way back. Many collectors will look just for the toys they remember from the past and keep them just for the memories and thats fine. The more dedicated collector will have more reasons to collect including the rarity of the items. The popularity and art form of the collectible will also be considered. So whether you are collecting just for the joy of it, or trying to make a little money from your efforts I hope to help you with your hunt for that special model or . Thanks for the visit Roger
