During the next few weeks you will be seeing some new things here. I have been away from Blogging for awhile due to my offline business but I am now back on track and making time for what I truly like to do, helping my readers learn about collecting diecast models. I plan to start with a little history on the various Ford models and the company in general. Chevy fans don't worry, I will be working on those too, I did have a hard time deciding which to start with first( flip a coin still works ). Please stop by often to see whats new, thanks for the visit Roger

Winners Circle Nascar Diecast

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_LfrkMI0JYm4/SLXQuvHR_OI/AAAAAAAAAAY/799SYjfjiYk/s320/230220091267_0.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239323242855005410" />
Winners Circle Nascar Diecast is another of my favorite builders of diecast models. Great detail and finish and reasonalbly priced. You can find these diecast model cars in many retail stores and hobby shops but I still find my best buys on ebay. Some of my favorites are the military and aircraft models of the WW2 era. A diorama can be a simple layout of a diecast model and a scale model figure or two, or a complete garage or race track layout. I have found many websites offering items to complete your diorama. You can find tools, buildings, gas pumps and most anything else with a simple search of the net. I have seen a few hand built dioramas with amazing detail including everything down to the smallest hand tools. If you have the space available to build, this way of showing off your diecast models can become a hobby of its own. Just what I need is another hobby and the time to follow it and lots more room. However there are scales you can find to build a kind of mini layout without taking over the whole house. Maybe I'll make a website about dioramas so we can share our ideas or you comment here for now. I think I will be needing some help on a project like that but it should be fun. Many of my models and toys are viewed by others as just toys, and ask how they can have any value. Sometimes the value of a collectible item is not measured in $ its just knowing you have something rare and unusual or that cool toy model that takes you back to another time. I have many diecast collectibles that probably fit this description, they are important to me if no one else. Yes there are lots of very valuable collectibles, some being many hundreds of dollars. I for one feel that most collectors find the value of there collection in the mind and the heart not in the wallet. That does not mean you can't make a few bucks trading and selling collectibles, just try and remember why you started collecting to begin with.
Thanks for stopping by Roger

Vintage Diecast Motorcycle

Vintage diecast motorcycles are fast becoming a favorite of diecast model collectors. In 1896 he was paid to ride for the Stearns factory to ride with their amateur team. Then on a borrowed gas powered bike racing at Salt Lake City he met Henry Ford who asked him to test drive one of his cars at Grosse Point track track. He purchased the two cars Ford had prepared even though he had never driven a car. This took place in 1902 and the following year he was the first man to drive 1 mile in 60 seconds or 60 miles per hour. In one year he drove at 20 tracks in a Peerless automobile in 18 weeks and won 16 of those races. In 1910 he purchased a Benz and later that year his speed was up to 130 miles per hour. In this same car he broke the record for the 1 and 2 mile course at Daytona Beach . The interest in these diecast models is fueled by the increasing popularity of Nascar racing. Many collectors will build their collection around a favorite driver, Richard Petty, Dale Ernhardt, Tony Stewart, just to name a few of great racers. Along with the model cars interest in nascar diecast haulers is also growing fast and about anything related to Nascar collectibles. I am curently working on a new web site about diecast colletibles of all kinds with main focus being on vintage nascar model cars, vintage diecast sprint cars and more. I will be bringing you the best sources on the web to fill your diecast model collection and will also be reviewing the top manufactures of diecast model cars.

Vintage Diecast Models

The collecting of vintage model cars can include so many forms you may have trouble decideing just what you want to collect. I don't have a problem, I want them all. A few to look at could be nascar vintage collectibles,vintage diecast sprint cars,vintage diecast models. Using any of these terms in the search engines will bring you thousands of models to look over. I am always amazed at the amount of info available on the web with just a little hunting. The world of diecast collecting is growing larger each year. The cost of collecting diecast models can be very modest or as high as you want to go ( Just spotted a 1924 Bugatti I really like $250.00) maybe later. The matchbox diecast models are a good place to start for the new or very young collector. These can be found at most any retail store or on the internet at low cost. After starting your collection, finding a way to display or store them can present some problems, the least being keeping them clean. Diecast display cases are the answer to a dust free collection unless you just like dusting. Buying the small scale collectibles can be a space saving solution if you don't have a lot of room.

Finding Your Collectbles

Finding your collectibles can be as much fun as the actual collection. I have found many of my collectibles at yard sales, flea markets, collector meets and auctions. I heard about one man who uses a metal detector in parks and other places to make some interesting finds. I recently moved to a new home and found a nice matchbox Model T truck while digging in the yard.Now with the internet we have even more ways to find that special car, truck or whatever. You find thousands of sources on the web and Ebay is one of my favorite sites. Always take care in dealing with vendors on the net, look for buyer feedback at their sites as satisfied buyers means alot. If you have made an unusual find please comment.

What This Blog is About

I am an avid collector of diecast models.
